If you are purchasing a new home, most lenders require that an electrical inspection is conducted before approving the loan. Additionally, it’s recommended to have any newly installed electrical wiring inspected by a qualified electrician. Also, if you experience flickering lights or other signs of faulty wiring, it’s important to have your electricity system checked out and repaired as soon as possible. 

An electrical inspector will inspect all outlets and switches for proper grounding and operation, check for any exposed wiring or splices, review the main panel for adequacy and safety, check for proper load calculations and panel labeling, as well as inspect the wiring of all appliances.
